Garden ArchGarden BenchIn 1995 COPE Foundation opened a new sheltered workshop in Clonakilty. Presently over forty people with a mental handicap are engaged in various activities there. COPE FOUNDATION - The Beginning

COPE Foundation has been active in Cork City and County under a variety of names since 1957. Its work began in the 50's with the polio epidemic, hence its original name - Cork Poliomyelitis Association. It subsequently became known as Cork Polio and General After-Care Association until its new title of COPE Foundation was introduced in March 1989.

COPE FOUNDATION - Services and Activities

COPE Foundation caters for 1,500 people who have a mental handicap, through its, system of schooling, vocational training, sheltered employment, housing, information and advice, throughout Cork City and County,

COPE FOUNDATION - Locations

COPE Foundations services are located at Togher, Hollyhill, Montenotte, Mayfield and Glasheen within the city area. The County services are located at Skibbereen, Clonakilty, Glanmire, Ballincollig, Bandon, Blarney, Mitchelstown, Midleton, Mallow, Macroom and Kanturk.
